Personal Description

Kym Fielke

Residing in the city of Adelaide in South Australia, I began paragliding 10 years ago at the age of 24 at the many picturesque coastal flying sites on the Fleurieu Peninsula. The elation of such minimal flight constantly fuels my desire to learn and pursue most forms of paragliding - coastal, cross country flying in hill and alpine regions, flatlands towing and onto a growing interest in acro and adventure flying.

Not into any XC competition scene, I currently prefer to fly DHV 1-2 class wings for pure personal enjoyment. The opportunity then to fly Ozone’s 2005 range of DHV 1-2 gliders in remote regions of the world is right up my alley, along with Ozone’s ‘Freeride’ philosophy that “…enjoyment and self satisfaction be the measures of your flight (Rob Whittall)”.

Due to the fantastic landscape views often observed while flying, paragliding photography has become a parallel passion, enabling me to capture rare and beautiful moments in flight.

Other non-paragliding interests:

  • Hiking, mountain biking, camping
  • Travel
  • A deep interest in the nature of, and the expansion of consciousness. Exploring the vast inner realms and their connection to the outer world
  • Interested in those humans who constantly push the envelope and limits of what can be accomplished in extreme/action sports and outdoor adventure pursuits.
  • Nutrition and how the body functions.
  • Music? Electronica (particularly Ambient) and a little trip hop – ranging from Aphex Twin to Massive Attack
  • and a good laugh as often a possible
