The Project

A solo paraglider trip around the world in 2002 through China, Australia, New Zealand and South America inspired Kris Coppieters to return to some of these destinations with a tandem paraglider. But this time, he hopes to be able to say “Yes” to the many big, demanding eyes that witnessed him landing at different remote villages: “Yes, you can fly with me” will be his reply now! And so he will share with the indigenous peoples the magic of the birds, which has been subject of so many legends worldwide from Icarus in Greece, to the Man Bird on Easter Island.

In the company of a rebellious and sexy globetrotter Aude from France and of a mystic birdman not so traveled Kym from Australia, I am sure to make a tremendous journey. The three of us strongly believe in freedom for everyone. We’re grateful for being born in parts of the world where we have all the opportunities to realize our dreams. We seldom hesitate to accept big and crazy (!) challenges. And as we got a bit bored with the many reality-TV game series, we thought why not trying to make something “different” ourselves?

Supported by fantastic sponsors and armed with a good bunch of paragliders and camera equipment (oh, our poor backs!), we’ll try to register a unique experience of opportunities - carpe diem - and discovery … no fixed scenarios… but…

• an attempt to meet at least one original character in each country who tells us a weird story about his homeland and who sheds a different perspective…
• an attempt to meet and to live with indigenous peoples and to learn from their culture and from their views, without getting sick, or stoned too often …
• an attempt to explore some remote zones on earth and to fly wherever we can…
• an attempt to enjoy every day…
• an attempt to laugh with the many complaints of daily life in Belgium , France and Australia…
• an attempt simply to show how great it is to live and to feel the blood in your veins!

To the Real Creative Minds

In the spirit of this project of opportunities, we want to share it with the REAL creative minds. We thought it would be really cool if enthusiastic people from anywhere on the world could give their personal touch to our exploration of different countries on the basis of our material. We invite amateurs, semi-professionals and professionals, filmmakers, film hobby clubs, and creative cinematographers to contact us and to propose us to make an as professional as possible high-quality creative film of ONE destination. Your results will be scanned and it might appear one day on television! We give priority to nationalities of the countries we visit, but everyone can apply! Don’t hesitate! Spread the message!

How to Apply?

Simply send us an e-mail via contact and soon you might receive our DVCAM-film tapes in your postbox. Please, only serious applicants. You’ll receive all the necessary information (logistics; standards; deadlines: don’t worry, we won’t stress you; accepted output-types; etc, …) via e-mail. We’ll provide you with a storyline in order to keep a constant between all individual emissions. Apart from that, we count on your creativity and mastership!
